Join us as we redefine excellence in engineering and construction management, shaping tomorrow's infrastructure landscape.About the roleWe are currently hiring a Senior Inspector with a NICET Level II certification to support transportation and infrastructure projects in Region 8, covering Westchester and Putnam Counties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction inspection, materials testing, and documentation on heavy civil or transportation projects.What you'll do

• Interpret and apply construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance with agency standards.
• Conduct field inspections and monitor contractor activities to verify quality of work and adherence to project requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports, including progress updates, field observations, and relevant metrics.
• Calculate and verify construction quantities for payment and change orders.
• Perform field testing and sampling of construction materials (e.g., concrete, asphalt, soil) in accordance with applicable procedures.
• Maintain organized and accurate field documentation, logs, and photographic records.
• Utilize systems such as SiteManager for reporting and data entry.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and agency representatives to resolve field issues and support project delivery.Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • NICET Level II Certification in Transportation/Highway Construction or equivalent field is required .
  • Additional certifications such as ACI (American Concrete Institute), NYSDOT Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC), or OSHA 10/30 are a plus.
  • Proven experience in field inspection for civil, highway, or infrastructure construction projects.
  • Familiarity with NYSDOT policies, procedures, and construction standards.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency with relevant software, including NYSDOT SiteManager.
