in which the position is located. Preferred qualifications:
Experience in the technology sector or digital advertising.
Understanding of one or more major international regulations
affecting online platforms and advertising (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, DMA,
DSA, COPPA, or AI legislation). Understanding of complex and
emerging technologies and products, and for "talking shop" with
product, engineering, and business teams. Excellent communication
skills, with the ability to explain complex issues with clarity in
writing and in meetings. Excellent collaboration skills. About the
job We are looking for a talented lawyer to become an Associate
Product Counsel in our Display and YouTube Ads Legal team. At
Google, product counsel are the lawyers who work directly with the
teams that design, build, and operate the company’s products. They
act as a bridge between legal requirements and innovation, helping
the company avoid costly mistakes while building products that are
safe, effective, and lawful. Product counsel understands the
functionality of, and the technology incorporated in, the products
they cover, as well as the business goals. They identify the legal
risks, strategize on pragmatic ways to limit the risks, and convey
their advice to product leadership, engineers, and business
executives. In doing so, they will regularly collaborate with
others, such as commercial counsel, legal specialists in privacy,
competition, or intellectual property law, trust and safety teams,
litigators, and public policy experts. The US base salary range for
this full-time position is $218,000-$315,000 bonus equity benefits.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and
additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and
relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about

Responsibilities Act as lead product counsel for new and existing
Display Ads products, features, and policies, providing legal
advice to product management, engineering, Sales, UX, PR/Comms, and
other cross-functional teams. Advise product and engineering teams
on high-stakes global regulations across privacy, competition,
content, and kids regulations, including GDPR and US State privacy
laws, DMA, DSA, AIA, and evolving AdTech regulations. Develop and
maintain legal strategy for advertising practices related to user
data, ads personalization, and evolving consent and transparency
frameworks, ensuring adherence to Google policies and privacy
controls. Develop and maintain legal strategy for complex
competition inquiries and restrictions, including partnering with
litigation and regulatory legal teams to support global antitrust
cases involving Google’s Ads businesses. Partner with others across
our Global Affairs team to prepare responses and defenses for
regulatory inquiries and legal challenges.
