Job Description:

Lockheed Martin, a leader in global security and aerospace, is seeking a Specialized Modernization Software Engineer to join our IT and Cybersecurity team. This role focuses on advancing our capabilities in software systems through modernization and integration of the latest technologies. The ideal candidate will contribute to projects that enhance the functionality and performance of our complex systems, with a focus on achieving superior outcomes for national defense and security. Design, develop, and implement software solutions through modern technology stacks. Collaborate with project teams to define requirements and create scalable software architectures. Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies, applying them to projects as applicable. Ensure software security by integrating cybersecurity best practices. Participate in peer reviews and maintain high standards of code quality. Provide support and troubleshooting for existing applications. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that software developments align with business goals and technology strategies. Proficient in advanced programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#. Experience with modern development frameworks and architectures, particularly microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes. Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals and secure coding practices. Ability to work collaboratively in teams and communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
