Job Description:
Who We Are International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global
movement working to protect people in poverty from everyday
violence—human trafficking, slavery, sexual violence, police abuse,
and other brutalities that destroy lives and communities. IJM
partners with local authorities in 30 countries to rescue victims,
hold perpetrators accountable, restore survivors, and strengthen
justice systems so they protect the vulnerable long after IJM
leaves. The Need For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to
protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the
last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have
reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large
populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact
to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a
Director of Recruiting. The Director of Recruiting serves as a key
architect of IJM's global talent engine, designing, leading, and
operationalizing standardized recruiting workflows and policies
that deliver mission-critical hires worldwide. Reporting to the
Vice President, Talent Pipeline & Development, the Director of
Recruiting directly oversees the U.S. recruiting team and provides
dotted-line guidance to regional recruiting teams, ensuring
operational excellence through Workday ATS mastery, rigorous global
compliance, and exceptional candidate experiences that reflect
IJM's values. This role is designed for a strategic builder who
thrives at the intersection of global operations and hands-on
execution. The Director of Recruiting personally leads full-cycle
recruiting for critical U.S. senior leadership and Global Functions
roles while driving system-wide standardization, metrics, and
continuous improvement that power IJM's bold vision to rescue
millions and protect half a billion people from violence. This
position is based in the Washington, DC area and is hybrid (onsite
Tuesdays & Thursdays). It reports to the Vice President, Talent
Pipeline and Development, and directly supervises the U.S.
Recruiting Manager and is responsible for leading the global
recruiting Community of Practice. This position is only available
for candidates with the right to work in the US. Key Result Areas
The success of this role is measured by the following KRAs: Design,
standardize, and implement global recruiting workflows and policies
that ensure consistent, compliant recruiting processes across all
regions. Optimize and govern Workday Recruiting (ATS) to drive data
integrity, transparency, and actionable recruiting analytics
globally. Build and develop strong global partnerships with
regional recruiting teams, HRBPs, and hiring managers to source,
select, and hire top talent. Establish and manage a clear set of
global recruiting metrics that inform workforce planning, improve
time to fill, quality of hire, and candidate experience. Ensure
global hiring compliance by embedding legal, regulatory, and data
privacy requirements into recruiting policies, workflows, and
system controls. Strengthen IJM's employer brand and sourcing
strategies to attract diverse, mission-aligned talent for
executive, expatriate, and specialized roles. Personally execute
full-cycle recruiting for critical senior, executive, and U.S.
Global Functions roles as needed, delivering mission-critical hires
through hands-on sourcing, assessment, and closing.
Responsibilities: Recruiting Operations & Strategy In partnership
with the Vice President, Talent Pipeline & Development, develop and
oversee a global framework for recruiting compliance to ensure
adherence to applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
and regulations in each jurisdiction where IJM hires. Collaborate
with Legal, HR leadership, and regional offices to ensure offers,
contracts, background checks, and data handling comply with local
law and data privacy standards. Create and maintain documentation
and audit trails within Workday and related systems to reduce legal
and operational risk in hiring. Provide guidance and training to
recruiters and hiring managers on compliant interviewing,
selection, and documentation practices. Work with the VP, Talent
Pipeline & Development to develop and execute comprehensive global
recruiting strategies aligned with IJM's organizational goals and
workforce plans. Analyze recruiting metrics (e.g., time to fill,
source of hire, offer acceptance rate, regional trends) and provide
regular reports and insights to senior leadership. Personally lead
end-to-end full-cycle recruiting for U.S.-based senior leadership,
executive, and Global Functions positions when strategic needs
arise, including sourcing, assessing, interviewing, negotiating
offers, and closing hires. Leadership and Team Management Provide
leadership to the U.S.-based recruiting function through direct
supervision of the U.S. Recruiting Manager and oversight of the
U.S. recruiting team. Provide dotted-line leadership, guidance, and
alignment support to regional recruiting teams, ensuring that
global standards are understood, contextualized, and implemented.
Set performance goals, metrics, and expectations for recruiting
teams, and monitor progress against these goals. Conduct regular
meetings with the U.S. recruiting team and regional recruiting
leads to review performance, share best practices, and address
challenges. Develop and implement training and onboarding programs
for new recruiters to ensure they are equipped to use Workday,
follow global standards, and deliver excellent candidate
experiences. Foster a culture of spiritual health and integrity by
modeling mature, authentic Christian discipleship. Employer
Branding & Candidate Experience Collaborate with Communications,
Marketing, and regional teams to strengthen IJM's employer brand
and articulate a compelling value proposition to candidates in
different markets. Ensure that candidate communications, from
sourcing to offer, reflect IJM's mission, values, and commitment to
justice and dignity. Maintain and continuously improve candidate
experience standards for responsiveness, clarity, and hospitality
across all stages of the process. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational
Development, or related field, or relevant experience; Minimum of
ten years' experience in full-cycle recruiting, with at least five
years in a leadership role overseeing multi-region or global
recruiting operations; Proven track record designing and
implementing standardized recruiting processes and workflows across
diverse geographies and jurisdictions; Demonstrated expertise with
Workday Recruiting (ATS), including configuration input, reporting,
data integrity, and process optimization; Strong understanding of
U.S. federal and state employment laws and familiarity with global
hiring compliance, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and
international mobility considerations; Experience partnering with
senior leaders and HR Business Partners to support workforce
planning, executive search, and expatriate hiring; Exceptional
written and oral communication skills, including the ability to
deliver well-organized presentations to executive audiences;
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive
information with the highest levels of professionalism and
integrity; Workday Recruiting (ATS) proficiency (configuration,
reporting, data governance); Global recruiting operations and
standardized workflow design; Employment law and global hiring
compliance frameworks; HR data analytics and recruiting metrics
dashboards; Sourcing strategy mastery (LinkedIn Recruiter, job
boards, talent networks, Boolean search); Applicant tracking system
optimization and automation; Vendor and external partner
management; and Workforce planning and capacity modeling. Critical
