What You ll Do

• Provide interventional radiology coverage across scheduled daytime hours and after-hours call.
• Perform and support IR services including: patient rounds, joint aspirations, vascular ultrasound (excluding venous and carotids), thyroid biopsy, CTA peripheral studies (upper/lower; including abdominal aorta and iliofemoral), and lumbar punctures.
• Support specialty consult requests and interpret relevant interventional studies as assigned.
• Conduct vascular and doppler procedures and related services such as renal artery doppler, mesenteric doppler, liver doppler, aorta doppler, venous insufficiency studies, vein mapping, and dialysis graft-related work.
• Take physician-to-physician communications for after-hours STAT procedures, following the established protocol.
• Provide remote reads for vascular and CTA studies (less than 10% of expected work) from Fort Washington Medical Center as needed.

Preferred

• Willingness/ability to complete credentialing in approximately 90 days
• Experience providing IR call coverage across multiple sites (as applicable)

About the Assignment
This full-time Interventional Radiology locum assignment supports a leading facility in Rockville, Maryland with day coverage from 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, plus after-hours call coverage for two hospitals. Weekday after-hours call runs 5:00 PM 8:00 AM, and weekend coverage begins 5:00 PM Friday through 8:00 AM Monday (with holiday coverage extending as scheduled). Expected volumes are approximately procedures/day in the hospital and 8 13 in the outpatient center.
