ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must possess the required
certifications. Candidates must be willing to work every other
weekend. Candidates must disclose any licensing hits at the time of
submission. Description: This role involves working in a fast-paced
intensive care unit. The unit has a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Each shift is staffed with one RN and one tech. A medical-surgical
nurse may float in to assist if needed. There is a charge nurse
responsible for staffing in the unit. Nurse aides are available
during both shifts. A patient care technician is always present in
the ICU with the RN. Weekend requirements include working every
other weekend. Holiday shifts are part of the staff rotation. Scrub
colors are flexible. The unit uses Phillips cardiac monitors, both
in each room and at a central monitor station. Common diagnoses in
this unit include COVID-related pneumonia, post-operative cases,
COPD, and CHF. The population primarily consists of older patients
and typical medical-surgical ICU patients. Respiratory therapy is
available 24/7. Pharmacy services are provided around the clock.
There is no IV team on-site. Nurses may float to medical-surgical
units only if comfortable. Floor-specific orientation consists of
1-2 shifts with a preceptor. Requirements Required for Onboarding
