Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Richmond, VA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,961 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active VA/Compact License required Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: Candidates must have 2 years of experience in a hospital setting. Candidates must possess an active VA/Compact license at the time of application. Candidates must pass the Basic Rhythm test. Description: This unit focuses on telemetry, medical-surgical, and trauma care. The unit has a total of 33 beds with around 55 staff members working collaboratively. Staff includes a charge nurse, unit secretary, registered nurses, and patient care technicians. Patient-to-nurse ratios are generally 5 to 6 patients per nurse. The unit is equipped with essential medical equipment, including EKG machines, code carts, vital sign monitors, and wound vacs. Experience in medical-surgical nursing is preferred. Candidates with excellent patient focus will be prioritized. Typical procedures performed on this unit include small incision and drainage, peritoneal dialysis, and thoracentesis. The ideal candidate should have a high energy level and a positive attitude. The dress code requires navy scrubs, and cotton jackets are not permitted. This unit has received recognition for improvements in patient experience and has numerous nominations for outstanding nursing staff. The facility is currently being renovated and features innovative technology and patient comfort enhancements. This is a Level I trauma center.
