About the Milken Center for Advancing the American DreamThe Milken
Center for Advancing the American Dream (MCAAD) at the Milken
Institute is looking for a dynamic digital strategist to join our
External Affairs team as the Sr. Associate Digital Strategy and
Content Management. As we near our public opening, the Sr.
Associate for Digital Strategy and Content Management will be
joining us at an exciting time to build and grow our digital
footprint and engage our audiences by leading the creation of
original content that resonates with people, raises awareness and
creates scalable engagement with American Dream stories. The Milken
Center for Advancing the American Dream (MCAAD), the newest center
within the Institute, is catalyzing this work by building a new
type of cultural center in the heart of Washington, DC. At MCAAD we
celebrate the ideal of the American Dream and explore the ongoing
challenges people face in pursuing opportunity, through exhibitions
and programs. To accomplish this, we focus on four pillars of the
American Dream: education, health, finance, and entrepreneurship.
MCAAD's physical home, with a planned opening in the summer of
2025, is a remarkable renovation of several 120-year-old historic
bank buildings, including Riggs Bank, known as the "Bank of
Presidents." The Center's main halls are in the National Register
of Historic Places, and our stewardship of the property-along with
adjacent buildings on 15th St NW-will showcase and honor the
history of these buildings while adapting them for use as a modern
cultural center with immersive exhibition galleries. There will
also be a state-of-the-art theater, events and lecture spaces, a
holodeck experience, store and an atrium with caf--. The
six-building complex featuring nearly 300,000 square feet of space
will also include a conference center, recording and broadcast
studios, and the Washington, D.C., headquarters of five centers of
the Milken Institute.About the PositionWe are seeking a digitally
fluent, curious, and collaborative professional to join our team as
Senior Associate, Digital Strategy and Content Management.
Reporting to the Director of Digital Strategy, this role is a
critical execution partner to MCAAD Digital Strategy and will
contribute to the success of MCAAD's web platforms, digital content
ecosystem, and visitor-facing digital experiences.This position is
ideal for a self-starter who is eager to grow in a fast-paced
environment, can manage complexity with calm and clarity, and is
excited to support a mission-driven, interdisciplinary
institution.You will operate at the center of MCAAD's digital
operations, working across departments and with external vendors to
ensure content creation and publication, quality, technical
readiness, and alignment with audience
goals.ResponsibilitiesDigital Strategy
- Support the development and implementation of MCAAD's digital
strategy and roadmap, with a focus on content management and
creation, user-centered design, and cross-platform
integration.
- Assist in identifying and implementing new tools, systems, or
enhancements to improve visitor experience and digital engagement
and drive organic audience growth.
- Help synthesize user data and stakeholder feedback into
actionable insights to support platform improvements.
- Contribute to digital documentation, strategy decks, insights
reports, and briefs to align internal teams and partners.Content
Management
- Maintain and publish content on MCAAD.org via Drupal CMS,
ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with brand voice
and audience needs and interests.
- Coordinate content and platform updates with external vendors
and internal stakeholders.
- Organize, QA, and prepare digital content in collaboration with
key stakeholders at MCAAD and Milken Institute.
- Help develop and maintain editorial calendars and asset
readiness for upcoming campaigns and launches.Ongoing Content
Creation
- Draft or edit digital copy for our web platforms, digital
content ecosystem, and visitor-facing digital experiences.
- Create original content, repurpose content, or commission
content, and create and implement plans for creation. This could
include video series, partnership content, games, animations,
online exhibitions, and more.
- Collaborate with programs, exhibits, visitor experience,
marketing and communications, and other MCAAD teams to ensure
readiness and accuracy of content.Digital Project Coordination
- Support the integration, setup, and execution of visitor tools,
systems and other platforms in collaboration with the Visitor
Experience and Marketing and Communications teams.
- Join cross-functional planning meetings, track deliverables,
and maintain digital workflows and documentation.
- Troubleshoot technical or content-related issues and escalate
appropriately.
- Support or lead digital initiatives, and perform other tasks as
assigned.Audience Insights, Data, UX, and Reporting
- Assist with tracking and interpreting data from Google
Analytics, Ticketure, email campaigns, advertising, social media,
and other platforms for digital engagement and audience
insights.
- Contribute to UX audits, accessibility reviews, and usability
improvements.
- Help prepare dashboards, reports, or briefs to support
decision-making and strategic planning.
- Duties as assigned.Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a digital content, communications, or
platform operations role.
- 4-year degree, preferably in a related field.
- A flair for memorable and exciting online experiences,
excellent written communication and editorial instincts, attention
to detail and accessibility.
- Fluency with content management systems and digital publishing
workflows.
- Comfort learning new tools; a big plus would be familiarity
with Drupal, Marketing Cloud, Github, Google Analytics platforms,
graphic design, and a passion for cutting-edge technologies,
conversational AI, gen AI, agentic AI, VR/AR and more.
- Experience in a museum, nonprofit, media, or mission-aligned
organization strongly preferred.
- Highly organized, proactive, adaptable, and team oriented.

needs of audiences and the organization.
- Holds a special interest in or experience with MCCAD's mission
and pillars: health, education and learning, finance,
entrepreneurship, plus unique aspects of the American journey (U.S.
history, immigration, aspiration and inspiration, advocacy,
democracy, civic and community engagement, and audience
development, and more).
- The ability to develop positive working relationships, support
colleagues, be flexible, and thrive in a fast-paced, fun, and
creative environment is essential. Working Conditions & Travel
RequirementsWe work in a professional office in Washington, DC,
adjacent to our public Visitor Center opening in 2025. In the lead
up to opening, this role will report to the Washington, DC office
location at a minimum Tuesday-Thursday with telework available
Mondays and Fridays. Once the Visitor Center is open, it is
expected that this position will be available for additional onsite
days. This role requires occasional evening and weekend programming
