Progressive Caucus PAC: The Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC
has a mission of electing strong, progressive leaders to Congress
who share our vision for America's future. The CPC PAC is the
caucus' political arm, co-chaired by Reps. Pramila Jayapal, Greg
Casar, and Maxwell Frost. It is one of the leading national groups
that works to support and elect the next generation of progressive
leaders that will embody the present and the future of the
progressive movement.Over the past three cycles, the CPC PAC has
raised over $13 million and invested millions through its
independent expenditure arm to support progressive House candidates
around the country. It is one of the only national groups solely
dedicated to electing progressive candidates to Congress.Position
summary: The CPC PAC is hiring a Political Director who will be
responsible for working with progressive candidates and incumbents
to develop winning campaigns. The Political Director will be
responsible for helping to identify and recruit progressive
candidates, build campaign operations, place and train campaign
staff, support campaign managers with budgets and day-to-day needs,
and work with other CPC PAC staff and House campaigns to support
the campaign's fundraising, political, press, paid media, and
organizing.The position is based in Washington DC and has hybrid
in-office / remote flexibility. This position requires the ability
to work core hours, Monday through Friday, and will sometimes
require travel as well as night and weekend hours. Due to the
cyclical nature of campaigns, this position is considered a 2026
cycle hire with an opportunity for continued employment beyond
that.Qualifications:
- A commitment to progressive policies and overall approach to
the political ecosystem.
- A clear understanding of and passion for progressive causes,
communications, and campaigns, and of what it takes to win
competitive primaries and general elections.
- Self-starter with at least 4 years of political campaign and
electoral experience, including federal races.
- At least 1-2 cycles of campaign management at the Congressional
level or equivalent, with a finance background preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of budgeting and paid media planning, including
tracking competitive spending and analyzing digital media
plans.
- Ability to travel and work with campaigns on the ground.
- Understanding of House races, Democratic primaries,
congressional campaigns, campaign dynamics, best practices, and a
strong commitment to electing progressive candidates.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills -
experience evaluating campaigns and making recommendations to
campaigns.
- Initiative to work independently and execute projects.
- Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence and foster an
inclusive environment, and ability to build trust and work with
candidates, staff, and elected officials.Political
responsibilities:
- Identify, recruit, and support strong progressive candidates to
run for Congress.
- Serve as a lead CPC PAC political point of contact on a daily
basis for CPC-endorsed candidates and incumbent campaigns.
- Conduct or participate in candidate interviews and correspond
with campaign staff.
- Help to recruit, place, and provide support for campaign
managers and campaign staff for targeted incumbent and open
seat/challenger races.
- Evaluate campaigns and provide CPC staff and Members of
Congress on the status of races with recommendations for how to
best evaluate, support, and invest in targeted districts.
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and candidates by
guiding them through the endorsement process while communicating
benchmarks and requirements as well as making recommendations.
- Build and maintain relationships with political consultants and
provide recommendations for assembling a consulting team.
- Assist in drafting race memos and other internal briefing and
materials.
- Assess the finance program and overall operations of our
campaigns and their opponents, and work with teams to develop
effective strategies that are appropriate to their individual
budgets and resources.
- Mentor campaign staff and work closely with them to ensure they
have the resources, knowledge, and skill set to run a strong
campaign. Provide assistance with budgeting, fundraising, campaign
planning, paid media, polling, and all other critical aspects of
the campaign.
- Other duties as necessary to support the PAC's political and
programmatic efforts and ensure success of our endorsed candidates
and members.Compensation and Benefits: This full-time position will
be based in Washington, DC. The salary range for this position is
$100,000-130,000/year and compensation for this position will be
commensurate with the experience level of the applicant.Benefits
