Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 15 years of demonstrated leadership; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 13 years of demonstrated leadership.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionGDMS is seeking a Business Development Director to lead a diverse team supporting exploration and business development within the Strategic Weapon Guidance, Flight, and security systems domain. The role involves directing business development activities for Strategic Systems Flight and Security programs, collaborating with the Flight and Security Business Area Segment Director on strategy and growth, and leveraging expertise in Navy Strategic Systems, mission operations, and the industrial base to define strategies, assess the competitive landscape, and identify investment needs for Navy opportunities beyond 2025. The candidate will utilize GDMS core competencies in strategic weapon systems and electronics to develop customer and industry relationships, craft win strategies, and execute capture plans aligned with growth objectives for the Maritime and Strategic Systems Line of Business. Responsibilities include overseeing proposal efforts, executing new business and R&D funds, managing CRAD/BAA programs, ensuring compliance with contracts and processes, and delivering quality, timely, and cost-effective results.Skills and Knowledge - The candidate should possess:

  • Deep understanding of Navy strategic deterrence missions and technical challenges
  • Expertise in Navy mission operations, strategic systems, and contractor industrial base
  • Strong knowledge of DOD acquisition policies and processes
  • Experience managing programs, project planning, and controls in line with policies and contracts
  • Ability to assess markets, develop business and capture strategies, and lead technical teams to win opportunities
  • Skill in preparing accurate and responsive bid proposals and ROMs
  • Proven ability to influence across customer organizations to support engineering, analytical, and operational goals
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially with senior personnelAdditional Responsibilities

    • Deliver innovative and adaptable solutions to meet evolving customer needs
