Job Description:
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or
Industrial Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent
practical experience. 5 years of experience in mission critical
facility design, construction environments, and their mechanical
infrastructure. 5 years of experience with mechanical
infrastructure systems such as HVAC, cooling systems, and water
system engineering. 5 years of experience with data center
operations and working with mechanical contractors and
cross-functional project teams. 5 years of experience with
electro/mechanical assembly and mechanical testing procedures,
including resolution and comprehensive documentation maintenance
for mechanical designs. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree
in Engineering, Business, or other relevant fields, or a
Professional Engineering (PE) license. Experience in designing
complex modular building scale assemblies. Knowledge of mechanical
engineering and design principles with a focus in the areas of
design for medium-scale production, structural beams/elements, and
international building codes. Understanding of mechanical
tolerances and tolerance analysis. About the job Our thirst for

cooling, electrical). As a Data Center Services Mechanical
Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the field-level
implementation and operational support of Google’s rapidly
expanding data centers. You'll be responsible for overseeing the
design, construction, and commissioning of complex HVAC and
mechanical distribution systems, ensuring projects are delivered
safely, swiftly, and with high quality. This involves managing
site-level mechanical engineering issues, ensuring compliance with
design standards and local regulations, supporting quality
assurance, and providing technical guidance to vendor teams. We're
looking for a strong communicator and collaborator who thrives on
construction sites and has experience with complex mechanical
systems, ideally within mission-critical facilities, heavy
industrial, oil & gas, or semiconductor industries. Behind

full-time position is $144,000-$209,000 bonus equity benefits. Our
salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within
the range, individual pay is determined by work location and
additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and

Responsibilities Provide expert technical support to data center
services and operations teams, defining mechanical system design
requirements for multiple data center projects from inception to
completion. Develop, implement, and manage the mechanical designs
at the site level, starting from the basis of design through to the
issuance of construction documents for new builds, infrastructure
upgrades, and renovations. Collaborate effectively with the
Engineer of Record (EOR) to respond to site-specific engineering
Requests for Information (RFI) and ensure alignment between
Google's requirements and the overall design. Work closely with the
core engineering team to provide site-specific requirements during
the development of the Basis of Design (BOD) and coordinate
system-level schematics with the EOR. Own and manage site-level
mechanical/cooling system issues during project execution, and
maintain comprehensive documentation of all data center-related
mechanical and cooling system design requirements.
