Job Description:
About Paxos Today’s financial infrastructure is archaic,
expensive, inefficient and risky — supporting a system that leaves
out more people than it lets in. So we’re rebuilding it. We’re on a
mission to open the world’s financial system to everyone by
enabling the instant movement of any asset, any time, in a
trustworthy way. For over a decade, we’ve built blockchain
infrastructure that tokenizes, custodies, trades and settles assets
for the world’s leading financial institutions, like PayPal, Venmo,
Mastercard and Interactive Brokers. About the team The Brokerage
team at Paxos enables partners to offer seamless crypto trading and
custody through a fully regulated, scalable platform. We power some
of the largest fintechs and enterprises, allowing them to integrate
crypto services without the complexity of building and managing
their own infrastructure. About the role As Director of Software
Development for the Brokerage organization at Paxos, you will be at
the forefront of building and maintaining market-leading crypto
brokerage solutions for the worlds most demanding broker-dealers.
You will leverage your deep expertise in modern technologies and
process-driven leadership to drive strategic direction, critical
technology decisions, and operational excellence. In this role, you
will empower engineering teams to deliver high-performance,
scalable, and secure systems, ensuring Paxos remains the trusted
partner for top-tier financial institutions. What you’ll do Lead
and scale high-performing teams: Manage and mentor multiple
software engineering teams, driving technical excellence and
ensuring business success for an independent business unit that
generates tens of millions in annual revenue and hundreds of
millions in daily gross trading volume. Own end-to-end engineering
execution: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of
brokerage components and tooling, ensuring they align with both
business objectives and technical requirements to deliver
best-in-class solutions. Drive cross-functional collaboration:
Partner with Product, Growth, Customer Success, and other
engineering teams to define project scope, set priorities, and
execute on a roadmap that meets customer and business needs. Uphold
engineering excellence: Establish and enforce best practices in
code quality, testing, security, and documentation to ensure
long-term system reliability and maintainability. Optimize
resources for impact: Lead resource planning, budget allocation,
and project prioritization, maximizing productivity and ensuring
the highest return on engineering investments. Foster a culture of
innovation and growth: Provide technical guidance and mentorship,
empowering engineers at all levels to grow, innovate, and solve
complex challenges. Scale the team with top talent: Play a key role
in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding world-class engineers,
building a strong, cohesive, and high-performing engineering
organization. About you Proven leadership in engineering: You have
15 years of experience in software engineering, including 7 years
in a management role, leading global, distributed, and
multi-layered engineering organizations. Enterprise-scale impact:
You have successfully built and delivered enterprise-grade B2B and
B2C products that drive hundreds of millions of dollars in
revenue/ARR while maintaining world-class performance and
reliability. Technical excellence in brokerage solutions: You have
deep expertise in developing high-performance, highly available
brokerage solutions with tier-1 SLAs, including 99.999% uptime.
Talent development & mentorship: You have a strong track record of
developing and scaling top engineering talent, mentoring
engineering managers, staff engineers, and senior engineers to
achieve their highest potential. Cross-functional collaboration:
You excel at working across teams—partnering closely with Product,
Growth, Customer Success, and Business Development—to ensure
engineering solutions meet the rigorous demands of the worlds top
broker-dealers. Problem-solving mindset: You thrive on solving
complex technical challenges and troubleshooting mission-critical
issues in high-stakes environments. Strategic & business acumen:
You understand the strategic, regulatory, and business landscape of
financial services and can drive key initiatives that balance
technical excellence with business impact. Execution at scale: You
can manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously,
delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, high-growth
environment. Pay and benefits Paxos offers a competitive total
compensation and benefits package, including equity and bonuses
based on both your individual performance and company performance.

salary within the range depends on your skills, experience, and
qualifications. Expected range for the base salary component for
candidates located within the United States is: $276,285—$325,041
