(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.

considered. A vacancy is available for a skilled Sign Language
Interpreter to support communication needs within educational
settings. This role involves working directly in schools to
facilitate effective interaction between deaf or hard-of-hearing
students and their teachers and peers. Key Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa to
ensure clear communication during classroom instruction, meetings,
and school events. Collaborate with educators, students, and
families to provide comprehensive communication access. Assist with
the adaptation of instructional materials and classroom activities
to accommodate language needs. Maintain confidentiality and
professionalism at all times. Travel regularly to various school
locations within the Richmond, VA area as required. Desired
Qualifications and Experience: Proficiency in American Sign
Language (ASL) with certified interpreting credentials preferred.
Previous experience interpreting in educational settings strongly
preferred. Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively while
maintaining high-quality interpretation services. Strong
interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity. Flexibility to
travel between schools and adapt to changing schedules. Location:
Richmond, Virginia, with travel to multiple school sites. This role
