Job Details Job Details: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Permanent Controller to join our team within the Engineering Industry. This role will offer you the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals and play a critical role in managing and improving our company's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. As a Permanent Controller, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, including financial reporting, audit coordination, budget management, and internal controls. Responsibilities: Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting. Research technical accounting issues for compliance. Support month-end and year-end close process. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Additional controller duties as necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Proven working experience as a Financial controller with 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Experience with creating financial statements. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations. Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations. Able to work well with senior management and across functions/teams. Skills in managing, guiding, and leading employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used. Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint, Government Contracts, T&M, FFP, CPFF. A proven track record of financial analysis and knowledge of financial auditing. Strong understanding of debit and credits and experience with closing monthly books. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and high level of accuracy. CPA or CMA preferred.
